What is the Sweetwater BOCES?
Sweetwater BOCES is a Board of Cooperative Educational Service, a legal entity made possible through an agreement between Western Wyoming Community College and Sweetwater County School Districts #1 and #2. BOCES was created through statute to facilitate partnerships between school districts, their nearest community college and the community to provide educational services not otherwise available.
Our Goals
Support the continued expansion of telecommunications within area schools.
Provide remedial classes in English, mathematics, and history.
After school education and enrichment opportunities.
Develop and expand enrichment programs for children and adults with emphases on mathematics, science, computers, and the fine arts.
Explore the development of a four-year degree program in cooperation with Western Wyoming Community College and area universities.
Support the ABE, ESL, and GED in cooperation with Western Wyoming Community College.
Explore in cooperation with Western Wyoming Community College the development of a summer residency program for talented 10th and 11th grade Wyoming students in science and mathematics.
Explore the feasibility of a Tech-Prep program with college and high school staff and representatives from business and industry.
